About the event
As population growth continues to expand communities, industry, and infrastructure, pressure on limited water resources is increasing at the very moment water quality and long term availability are becoming more critical. This presentation examines the growing connection between development, water scarcity, and the urgent need to protect the quality of the water we still have through smarter Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan design. Grounded in sustainability principles and practical stormwater management, it challenges professionals to move beyond minimum compliance and toward higher performing SWPPPs that reduce sediment, pollutants, and unnecessary environmental harm while improving infiltration, treatment, and overall site performance. The session highlights how better material selection, stronger treatment train planning, more thoughtful dewatering and runoff management, and integrated sustainable practices can help produce cleaner discharge, protect downstream waters, and support future generations. Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of why higher water quality standards must become part of modern SWPPP strategy and how smarter design decisions today can help safeguard tomorrow’s increasingly limited water supply.
