About the event
Many of us have heard about the multiple benefits of re-purposing recycled organics (i.e. compost filter socks and erosion control blankets - i.e. composted mulch) for storm water management and Low Impact Development, but very little information is available on the logistical challenges and practical application and installation of these BMP's and the costs associated with this "last mile". This workshop will share details that must be considered when deciding to deploy a "compost-based" BMP, the pre-planning that must occur for a successful installation and the associated costs and different application equipment available for getting the job done. The presenter will be sharing over 16 years of experience in the utilization of compost for managing storm water and delivering environmental services.
