About the event
Join us for this Storm Water Awareness Week Regional Spotlight, where we will be heading to Texas for a conversation with The City of Arlington who operates a municipal separate storm sewer system in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, one of the fastest growing regions in the country. Sustained population growth and continuous development place ongoing pressure on stormwater infrastructure, water quality, and compliance oversight. This workshop brings together staff from across the division, including compliance, education, field operations, and capital projects, for a moderated discussion of how the program works in practice under those conditions. We will be discussing construction site inspection and TPDES compliance in an environment of continuous development, water quality data collected through the Texas Stream Team volunteer monitoring program, urban stream erosion in North Texas watersheds, and coordination among neighboring MS4s that share receiving waters.
