Have you installed a Trash Capture Device (TCD), only to find that there is still unsightly litter in your waterways?  It may not be your fault.  While TCDs have been available for decades, there has been no good way to be sure they work.  A water manager had only the manufacturer’s claims to rely on.  Until now.  ASTM and STEPP are pleased to announce that they have created a standard test protocol and data verification program that will give watershed managers independently verified, standardized performance data for TCDs.  Comparison shopping just got easier.

This workshop will discuss the ASTM E3332 test protocol and the STEPP verification program.  It will include examples from test reports and an explanation of how these tools can help watershed managers take advantage of the new verified reports.  There will also be discussion of lessons learned while testing to the E3332 standard and what revisions are in store for that standard.
