This workshop will explore a holistic approach to modern stormwater management by integrating Low Impact Development (LID) principles with both surface and subsurface design strategies. Attendees will gain insight into how erosion is often the result of unmanaged runoff and how comprehensive system design can effectively mitigate these risks.

The presentation will demonstrate how surface solutions—such as green infrastructure, landscapes, and infiltration practices—work in tandem with subsurface conveyance and storage systems to control runoff at its source. By combining infiltration, detention, and conveyance strategies, participants will learn how to reduce flow velocities, manage peak discharge, and enhance overall system performance while protecting soil stability.

Focusing on practical, real-world applications, the session will highlight space-efficient, regulatory-compliant design approaches tailored for urban environments. Emphasis will be placed on connecting visible and hidden infrastructure into cohesive systems that balance sustainability, performance, and site constraints.
