This session will provide a practical overview of construction stormwater compliance in Washington under the Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP), connecting regulatory requirements to real-world action. Topics will include the permitting process, development of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), selection of Best Management Practices (BMPs), and monitoring and reporting requirements to meet permit goals.

A range of BMPs will be discussed, from fundamental erosion and sediment control measures to more advanced treatment systems. The talk will cover necessary design elements such as sizing methods, components, and basic treatment chemistry, along with key considerations for successful implementation, operation, and maintenance.

Project examples will illustrate the decision-making process, system sizing, and operational concerns. The session is designed to be accessible for those new to stormwater compliance, while still providing enough technical detail to engage more experienced practitioners.
