This presentation uses cryptids as a playful entry point to explore how climate change is intensifying extreme weather and environmental stress across land and water. It connects a warmer world to stronger storms, algal blooms, lower snowpack, heat domes, fast-moving wildfires, and rising river and ocean temperatures that would strain both cryptids and the habitats they depend on. Famous cryptids like Bigfoot, Nessie, and Mothman offer a fun lens for imagining how climate change could disrupt even the most legendary creatures through habitat loss, wildfire, flooding, heat, and changing water conditions. The goal is to make stormwater, climate, and science topics more engaging and accessible for people of all educational backgrounds.
