About the event

This presentation was originally developed and delivered to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) and covers construction site stormwater pollutants from the ground up: what they are, where they come from, which trades and activities produce them, and what controls address each category. It uses a consistent Pollutant / Cause / Contributors / Solutions framework across nine pollutant categories including sediment, pH-altering materials, oils and fuels, metals, trash and solid waste, oxygen consumers and nutrients, toxics and solvents, dissolved solids, and pathogens. While the content reflects North Carolina regulatory context, the subject matter is broadly applicable to construction projects nationwide.
